Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT)

What is Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT)?

This therapy looks at your past experiences, in particular previous relationships. It’s a therapy that is often used if you’ve tried Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and it’s not been for you or where a psychodynamic approach is preferred.

Your fully trained therapist will talk you through your difficulties helping you understand how these may affect how you feel and behave in any present relationships.

This therapy will also help you with future relationships too.

Why Would I Want This Type of Therapy?

Dynamic interpersonal therapy (DIT) looks to help you with:

  • a better understanding of you and others you have relationships with
  • gives you time and head space to reflect on your thoughts and feelings
  • lets you become more confident in your relationships
  • gives you real-life, practical tools to help you manage any future relationship difficulties

How is This Therapy Delivered?

Working with fully trained therapists you’ll have weekly sessions to talk through past relationships to help with your current relationships.

You may find that your therapist is a lot quieter and doesn’t always answer your questions directly. This is nothing to worry about – a big part of this therapy is letting you work through your problems and come up with the answers yourself.

Although you’ll not be on your own; our fully trained therapist will guide you and offer full support too.

We offer this therapy across Kent and Medway in a range of ways including face to face, over the phone, via an online video call, and using our digital talking therapies too.
